1 Put the app on your phone

Open the Daily Balance link in your phone browser (Chrome or Safari). In the browser menu, tap "Add to Home screen". Now Daily Balance has its own button on your phone, like any other app.

2 Create your account

Tap Create your account. Enter your name, then either your phone number or your email address, and choose a PIN. A code comes to whichever you gave — type it in and your account is ready.

The PIN is four numbers, and it will not accept 1234, 0000, a year like 1990, or two numbers repeated. Those are the first ones anybody tries. The PIN is your key — do not share it. Your records are private: nobody else using Daily Balance can see your money.

3 Record money in and money out

Every time money comes in or goes out:

• Tap + Money In when you receive money — wages, sales, money sent to you.
• Tap − Money Out when you spend — food, transport, rent, school fees, stock.
• Type the amount, tap what it was for, then tap Save.

The buttons under the amount (+50, +100, +500) add to what you have typed, so 100 then 50 gives 150. If what you spent on is not in the list, tap More…, and Other lets you type your own.

Best habit: record it the moment it happens. Small entries you skip are how money "disappears".

4 Know your balance

The big green card at the top is My Balance — all your money in minus all your money out. Below it you see this month. Tap Records at the bottom of the screen to see everything you have entered, grouped by day, with the balance after each one.

On the Records screen you can search for a word you typed, or show only money in or only money out.

5 Keep separate books

One account can hold several books — a shop and a household, or your money and a group's money. Each book keeps its own records, its own balance and its own currency, and they never mix. Add one in Settings → My books.

6 No internet? No problem

Keep recording as normal. Entries save on your phone and show in a yellow "waiting to send" list — and they are already counted in your balance, so the number you see is your true balance. When internet comes back, the app sends them by itself. Never enter the same thing twice — if you see it in the yellow list, it is saved.

7 Fix mistakes

On your phone, go to Records and tap the record itself. A panel opens with Edit and Delete. On a computer, each row also has a pencil (✎) and a cross (✕) at its right.

Before anything is deleted you are shown exactly which record it is, and changing or removing one works out every balance after it again. A waiting (yellow) entry has its own cross, to remove it before it is ever sent.

8 Get your records out

In Settings → Download my records you can save your records as PDF (for printing or WhatsApp), Excel, or CSV. Good for a loan, a susu group, or simply your own copy. It downloads the book you are in, so if you keep more than one, switch book and download again.

9 Forgot your PIN?

On the sign-in page, tap Forgot your PIN? We send a code to your phone or email — enter it and choose a new PIN. You do not need anybody's help. To change your PIN any time: Settings → Change my PIN.

Setting a new PIN signs the account out on every other phone or computer. That is deliberate: if somebody else knows your old PIN, changing it should put them out.

If a wrong PIN is typed too many times, sign-in pauses for a while, and each pause is longer than the last. That is what stops somebody guessing. Resetting your PIN clears it straight away, so you never have to wait it out.

10 The code did not come?

Codes by SMS can be slow, and on some networks they do not arrive at all. You do not have to wait:

• Use an email address instead of a phone number. Type it in the same box on the sign-up or Forgot-your-PIN page and the code comes to the email. This works anywhere in the world.
• Check the spam or junk folder.
• Wait one minute, then tap Send a new code.
• Put in the wrong number by mistake? On the confirmation screen, tap Change my number and start again.
• Still stuck? Message us — see below. Nothing is lost; your account is waiting for you.

Leaving, and taking your records with you

Your records are yours. Download them whenever you like, and if you want to go, Settings → Close my account removes your account and every record in every book. You do not have to ask anybody, and it cannot be undone — so download first if you might want them later.
